Symposium „Künstliche Intelligenz – ein Gewinn für die Europäische Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft“ | 'Artificial Intelligence – how it brings benefits to the European economy and society’
on Wednesday 23rd May 2018, from 2.30 pm to 4.40 pm, at the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union Rue Belliard 60-62, 1040 Brussels. Artificial Intelligence will be an enabler for innovation, productivity, economic growth and of major importance for European companies. At the same time, AI raises public concerns, such as impact on jobs or loss of human control in automated decision-making. The development of AI that must respect European values and legal standards that achieves broad social acceptance, and that ensures that Europe can compete with other actors on global level. The EU Commission has published on April 25 its communication 'Artificial intelligence for Europe', a European strategy to address emerging challenges related to AI. With Dr. Dirk Jendroska (Head of Machine Learning Strategy, SAP SE), Axel Simon (Chief Technologist, Hewlett Packard Enterprise), Dr. Andreas Goerdeler (Head of Information Society, Federal Ministry of Economics, Germany), Lucilla Sioli (Director Digital Industry, DG CNECT, European Commission), Christian Roux, Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation at Institut Mines-Télecom, France) and André Losekrug-Pietri (Chief Officer, Joint European Disruptive Initiative), moderated by Hendrik Kafsack (FAZ).
