Economic Council warns against reversing the Agenda 2010 labour market reforms
"In light of the concessions which German Chancellor Angela Merkel appears willing to concede to the main centre-left opposition party (SPD) in order to form a grand coalition Professor Kurt J. Lauk, President of the Economic Council, an influential business association, has warned that Germany risks “going the French way”, in rolling back the labour market reforms of her predecessor."

"In two separate newspaper interviews Lauk claimed that the likely outcome of the still ongoing talks between the two largest parties would risk jobs and jeopardize the gains in German competitiveness begun under social democratic Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. The CDU is helping the SPD roll back its own Agenda 2010 reforms."
